Police to Picket

FYI: From the FOP Website:

Please support our police officers by picketing when the Olympic Committee comes to town. They have been nearly 2 years without pay raise. The city pulled the money off the table and after nearly two years, it seems as if they are back at square one, with no end in sight. Remember City workers, first the police, then the fire department, then the teachers, streets and santitation...

INFORMATIONAL PICKETING

Thursday, April 2, 2009 11:00 am

City Hall - Washington and LaSalle

TRANSPORTATION FOR OUR MEMBERS WILL BE PROVIDED AT THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS AND ARE SCHEDULED TO LEAVE AT 0930 HOURS:

006th District 016th District
Parking & Bus-Habetler Bowl Foster & Northwest Highway
Area 3
Area 4
008th District
022nd District
Area 5

THE CITY IS ATTEMPTING TO BACK THE LODGE INTO A CORNER. NOW IS THE TIME FOR OUR MEMBERS TO SHOW THE CITY AND MANAGEMENT HOW WE FEEL.
PICKET SIGNS WILL BE PROVIDED.

Fact: The City withdraws Police financial proposal

Fact: Alderman Beale wants to stop our Uniform Allowance and Duty Availability pay

Fact: The Department dismisses us by stating, "Officers will not come out in force." (Chicago Sun Times, 3/26/09)

The Mayor and Weis think that we will take whatever they dish out and we don't care enough to get out of bed and rally. Now is the time to stand up to City Hall and Weis by marching.

Enough is enough! If we won't stand up for ourselves then Weis and the Mayor will win!

They think that they can strip us of our benefits and fail to give us a pay raise without us reacting!

ON APRIL 2ND LET'S TELL THEM THAT THEY ARE WRONG!

For those wondering what this has to do with 60655, a large percentage of people living here are city workers so I felt it was relevant, along with a few readers who emailed me this information. This is for information purposes only and comments are closed.
