I guess no news is good news. I was going to post about the snow, but hey we knew that was coming and that the streets would be horrible. No surprises there. Anybody got anything to post? Any new news?
From the Scum-Times yeaterday: 2.25 million dollar suit settlement by the city of Chicago for a kid who home invaded a couple's home with a gun, and was subsequently shot/killed by an off duty police officer who was also in the home. Only four alderman voted NO to the settlement saying it would set a bad precedent (giving criminals money for an act during the commission of a crime). The four alderman: Blacer (11th), Cardenas (12th), Suarez(31st), & Stone (50th).... My question: How did our own alderman Rugai vote? She was not listed as one of those who voted no. To the aldermen who voted NO, I salute you!! To all the rest, I will remember you come voting time. No wonder this city is broke, let's keep paying out to these pieces of garbage....
What's up with Mayor Daley not plowing or salting the side streets? Doesn't he consider all the kids that walk to and from school and their safety? We have crossing guards at the main intersections, but not on side streets. I personally drive my son to school, but what about those that aren't as fortunate?
Mayor Daley salting the side streets??? I can't believe my own neighbors won't shovel or salt the sidewalks in front of their houses! Our poor postman is about 65 years old. He's got to climb snow mounds and try not to slip on icy steps. What's the deal people?
