How about best or worst neighbor stories? Mt. Greenwood gets such bad press, I thought it would be nice to show people why we love the community so much!

Auto shop stories would be great. What about what we would like to change/add at 103 and kedzie, 111th and Pulaski, 115th and Pulaski, 111th st from Pulaski to Sacramento, Along Kedzie from 103 to 111th. I also like the idea of which houses we like the best.

Could use your "best of" to help people find good services too. Auto shop, beauty shop, babysitter, lock service, landscape design, lawn care, etc.

Where do people shop:

60655,
elsewhere in city,
outside city, but in Cook County,
Outside Cook County,
Indiana,
on-line?

I'd love to find a good hair stylist around here. I still drive all the way north.

Best Irish Pub in ward!! I say Keegans for atmosphere and Quigleys for all around good looks and pint.

Man, if your so picky about your hair, maybe you should move back up to the north side. I'm assuming that your from the North side, since you stated that you "still have to drive all the way north to get a good hair cut. That's silly. Try nutrones next to the firehouse on 111th st. Antonio will fix you up.

Mt. Greenwood has the most beautiful women in the city. As a result we have way more beauty shops per person than any part of the world.

Sorry, that's "Cutrone" whoopsie!

I am kind of picky about my hair and I am orginally from the north side. The reason I still go up there is that this guy give me a GREAT cut and only charges me $25. I am a female...do you have any idea how much most people charge for a decent cut for ladies, even down here???? $25 is well worth the drive but I would love to find a place close to home. Thanks for the suggestion.(not moving back north but the place by the firehouse)

For a haircut go see Toni Quinn at Face to Face on 111th and St. Louis. She's a neighborhood resident who owns the shop and anyone there will take great care of you.

How about best plowed street in Mt. Greenwood ? 113th and Hamlin would win hands-down, since rumor has it an employee of the alderman lives on that block...They got their street plowed twice in one day, and after calling 311 twice that day, I never saw a plow, and I am two blocks away. That block consistenly gets a plow right out of the gate. Clout sure isn't dead in the 19th Ward.

Come on over to 43. Sometimes, I have to ask the drivers to stop plowing our street :)

Im glad I'm not the only one to notice that. Next time it snows I'm going to sit on the corner of 113th & Hamlin and let the plow driver know that there are streets called Ridgeway, Lawndale & Millard. I know its easy to get lost back there so maybe I'll give him a map.

I just looked up the "politician's helper" real estate taxes and I pay the same amount as her but her house is twice as big, thats kinda weird.
