Democracy at Work

This came from the comments section:

It is not in the nature of politics to elect the best person since, by definition, the best man or woman does not desire to govern their fellowmen. Given this general truth, the office (through the citizenry) should seek the official, rather than the official seeking the office.

In and around 60655, there are many talented individuals who express their devotion to our community through acts of volunteerism. Let's recognize their commitment.

Start a post seeking comments that identify individuals who display the traits we seek in a public servant. Let's help the office find its official.

Okay, so who in the community do you think should be the official in office. Remember we want individuals who display the GOOD AND HONEST qualities of an elected official, not the norm we are use to in Crook County.

I am just sick of all the Democrats in the City of Chicago. We need some new blood. There has to be someone willing to run. Does someone know an honest, educated person that would be willing to run??????

My vote is for Joe Kezon from St. Christina Parish.

This year alone he serves as Holy Name Society President, Chief of the YMCA Adventure Guides Blackhawk Nation (father & son activities), and a member of the St. Christina Athletic Association. Moreover, he runs St. Christina's fall and spring soccer leagues. I also believe that he served as President of the St. Christina School Advisory Council several years ago.

In short, he's dedicated, selfless with his time, and a gentleman.

Keep-up the good work Joe. You have my vote!!

Anyone of the park ladies who built the new playground will do. At least SOMETHING was accomplished in Mount Greenwood.

Recently retired Chicago Police Commander Robert (Bob) Evans. A great family man, boss, member of the community, and former Mount Greenwood Man of the Year.

He has my utmost respect and admiration.

Today I received in the mail a letter from the 19th ward for a contribution to the Annual Cocktail Party and Reception. You have got to be kidding me. What nerve! Just look around you and you will see what this ORGANIZATION has done for the community,NOTHING, now they want a donation. Anyone who gives this gang of crooks a penny is nuts. When I read the accompanying letter, and what they call accomplishments I almost started to vomit. They must really think that each and every one of us is a complete idiot. The only thing that letter provided for me are the names I will try to vote out of office next election.

I got that same envelope in the mail from Ginger's office. She must have some good employees there because all I received was an empty unsealed envelope with my name on the front. That's exactly what her office is getting back from me. An empty envelope.

Do the Republicans of the 19th Ward have a cocktail party/fundraiser?

Anyone get the "happenings this weekend in the 19th ward" email yet? Where's Mount Greenwood in any of this? Can we annex from our ward?

I didn't get the mailing for the cocktail party. But any chance it's at Bourbon St. Outside of the ward??

I can't believe this did not get any more comments. We only have 3 people in Mt.Greenwood/Beverly that could run for office. Come on people. I know plenty of educated and talented people in this area. Throw some names out there.

Nipsey Russell should run.

It is all fixed anyway. What is the point?

I say get a Republican to run.

Got any Republicans who will run?

Oh Sweet Jesus! Joe Freakin' Kezon! Why didn't we think of it sooner? I'll tell you why. Because he's qualified! He's got a brain, morals, heart,a partner with a brain, morals, heart, I'm not gonna get excited yet. We need real professional planning now.
