WELL,WELL,WELL, Illinois got sucker punched again by a Democrat Roland Burris. Lied to get the Senate seat so Republicans could not and knowing fool well he would never have been voted into that office. All it took was ex-gangbanger Booby Rush to mention " Don't lynch the man" and everyone panicked. The senators that vowed not to seat him did, all Democratic turn coats. Now, after he has been seated he remembers he was approached by Blago's people. Simple perjury and should be removed!! How many more times do the people of Illinois have to be made fools of by these clowns? I'm sure somewhere don the road race will be a factor again and we will all shake in our boots and Burris will stay right where he is, in a seat of power he does not deserve, laughing at us again...VOTE INDEPENDENT. IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO GET RID OF ALL THIS JUNK!!!!!!

I agree with the above poster. I am sick of blind follwers of the dummycrat party . i dont think Repubs have anyone to vote for , that is a true conservative lately so I will leave them out. The dummycarts love to use race se and "the evil white mans world" to scare up votes or to stay in power. If you work and make at leat 45,000 a year why would you vote for a dummycrat??Union or not. If you dont work and live off of section 8 Link and free rubbers and discounted comed and gas billd from jesse then vote for the poverty pimp party! Oops I forgot free health care and medicine too. I am sick..... sorry the guy above me set a fire under me again. Stimulus package my as$!We are screwed and so is he in 4 years when its a huge failure. Any funding for the military fighting two wars in there?? No. 10 percent cuts though for the defense budget. The only thing selling is guns these days. Buy em up kiddies.

Life

by Jim 'Mudcat' Grant ©

Published: unknown (unknown)

Life is like a game of baseball,
You play it every day.
It isn't just the breaks you get,
But the kind of game you play.

So stop and look your whole team over,
And you'll find dedication there.
You're bound to be a winner,
With men who really care.

Your pitcher's name is courage,
You need him in the game.
For faith and trust your keystone men,
The grounders they will tame.

Your center fielder is very fast,
Though small and hard to see.
So watch him, son, when he gets,
The ball he's opportunity.

In left field there's ambition,
Never let him shirk.
For in right field there's a husky man,
I'm told his name is work.

At first base there's religion,
He's stood the test of time.
At third base there's brotherhood,
The stalwart of the nine.

Your catcher's name is humor,
He's important to the scheme.
For with honor warming in the bull pen,
The game is always clean.

With love on the bench,
You've perfection no less.
With a winning team,
And joy and happiness.

Your other team is strong, son,
Greed, hatred, envy and defeat.
Are for strong infielders,
You'll have to buck to make your game complete.

Deceitfulness and a man called waste,
Are always playing hard.
Selfishness and jealousy,
None can you disregard.

Carelessness and falsehood,
Are the big boys in the pen.
You'll have to swing hard, son,
When you come up to them.

There's one more man you'll have to watch,
He's always very near.
He's the pitcher on that team,
And I'm told his name is fear.

This game will not be easy,
There'll be trouble, there'll be strife.
To make the winning runs, my boy,
For this game is played on the field of life.

So stand behind your team, my boy,
There'll be many who'll applaud.
Just remember that you're the player,
And the umpire here is God.

A party that is fiscally conservative, and moderately liberal is what I want, I know don't bash me for my wanting to be liberal, but I do have boundaries. I will NEVER vote straight democrat EVER again, nor will I vote straight any party, they ALL need to go.

I will not vote for anyone the 19th ward endorses. Yes, I was one of the morons that voted for the one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel Stroger, but I told my precinct capt if they put an a**hole in there don't come back to my door ever again, I hasn't seen him since.

As far as the unions go, they have wised up, they are backing the people not the parties anymore. This I know for a fact, and it is about time.

lets vote more democrat in but this time i hope they use a condom before they run

I'm way off topic here, but here goes. I'm looking to put in a new bay window in my front room as well as 3 "basic" sized bedroom windows. Anyone have thoughts or opinions on where to get prices. Had a few windows put in by Feldco last year. I like the windows but I can't fathom having to deal with the same sales rep. again, he was very irritating. I appreciate any advice. Have a great day.

How anyone can vote democratic and sit in church on Sunday is just unbelievable. Abortion is murder! And a vote for a democrat, is vote for murder. For example, why is it that if a drunk driver smashes into another car that is occupied by a pregnant women, and both she and her fetus are killed, the drunk driver would be charged with two murders. Now let's say for example that that same pregnant woman took a different route and did not smash into that drunk driver. But she makes it to her destination which is to the abortion clinic and aborts her baby. The law says that's not murder? I guess it just depends on if it is convenient to have a baby a that time in the woman's life right? So, is an unborn child a human or not? You can't have it both ways. Democrats have no morals, period!

I to believe that fiscally conservitive and social liberal/moderate is the way to go. I beleive that the ignorant masses that blindly vote the way the precinct captain or union leader tells them have really harmed this city county and state. Our taxes are some of the highest in the nation yet the services provided by the goverment are sub standard. Hopefully some of Obama much heralded change is coming to Chicago, cook co. and Ill inthe next election cycle.

I have the guy for you ... but I have to find his number ... I'll post it when I find it

I am 35 and a conservative in everyway. I feel bad for people that are down and out, but I dont want them living down and out on my dime. I believe in Life, period. I believe goverment is the problem not the solution. I want smaller goverment less laws and more freedom. I believe the best person for the job should be rewarded with the job, not the color or sex of the times.I feel this country should never apologize to the world for our behavior (Obama did on arab television) I believe our soldiers deserve more money than welfare takers. Better weapons better medical care after they serve, they are our beacon of light, not the laid up dope dealer that refuses to work and is on SSI at the age of 19 because he has "bad eyes" get glasses!.
These are simple ideas, yet being liberal means ignoring most of these and feeling guilty for your education and race.
God bless America and our men and women that serve us! No matter who rules I hope we continue to be teh best country.

hey nippsy
evergreen door and window gave me a quote that charged about 300hr in labor. They charge at least double what it should be.

So you don't want the Olympics. Maybe its leaves chicago a few billion dollars in the hole. We can start opening our minds up and think about completely changing the south side of chicago. Getting the Olymics will accelerate the cleansing that is already taking place. Think of the entire south side of chicago actually paying taxes and working for a living. Stop trying to paint a negative picture on everything. The only way to improve our city is to redevelop the south side of chicago. Our parents abandoned it many years ago. Well we can take it back. The Olympics can help. We can make up the billions that will be lost by actually creating a tax base instead of a supporting a bunch of pieces of shit.

Hey 6:17 P.M. Did you think that maybe you should have said, "Hey dude, your full of s%#t! Gimme your best price or hit the bricks! That's how you get the price you want. With the economy right now, your in charge, not the salesman. Now call them back, and tell them what you were quoted, than give them your price take it or leave it.

Evergreen does nice work. They employ Polish carpenters who are true perfectionists, but they don't stand behind their warranty.

Ten years ago, I had eight windows put in by Evergreen. The owner told me that there was a lifetime warranty and that I'd never have to pay a dime to correct anything that went wrong. Well, the seals failed three times and they've had to come back three times: first time I paid nothing, next two times I had to pay $75 per visit.

My gut feeling is that the workmanship is good, but that the product is inferior. Decide for yourself!

I heard the same about Evergreen Door/Window. Crazy expensive.

Anonymous said...

evergreen door and window lead you to believe that windows and labor are really expensive. they are not. when some charged 100+ dollars and hour and sends a polish dude over, that guy usually makes 10-15 dollars and hour with no benefits.

nippsy, my quote was about 4-5 years back when everything was flying high. i did find someone for a reasonable price. I tell contractors that they get one shot and they better make it good or i don't call them back.

wow, i complained about the craters at 103rd and western last week here and not they are suddenly fixed this morning. Probably just a coincidence.

excuse me, I just pee'd my pants laughing so hard. Come on, if we "clean up the southside," where do these people go??? when the projects were torn down, they moved around the city and suburbs, different gangbangers moved into enemy territory and more crime ensued. If we take back the southside, where do the rest go. Who is going to want to move to a broken down neighborhood and start to rebuild? Half of us can't afford the houses we got anymore because we are paying such high taxes to support these do nothings? Wait, I know, we can take our stimulus savings and dump it into these future first class neighborhoods...oh wait, we are middle class, we get nothing! As for giving them jobs, they didn't work before, why would they work now? it's soooo much easier to stay on welfare and get tons of free crap. I love going to the grocery store and watching the people with the expensive coats, purses, phones, buying food I can't afford and using a link card! Plus, they are healthy looking and have three teenagers with them, hmmm, nobody can work? I would love to sit my butt at home and take care of my kids, but I guess it comes down to pride, I have too much and others have not enough.

Sorry, the southside will just be fixed up and pretty for the lazy shit that resides there now. You and I will get the bill for the olympics and Willbur will benefit 100percent! In these financial times we dont need games we need to let go of the loose baggage, the welfare rats that live on it for 4 genertaions like the lottery. Th econstruction worker that gets laid off for three months gets treated liek shit at the office trying to get his benefits. Yes His.
California is a waste land of Illegals getting everything for free. You see they were way ahead of Blago and daley with their programs and "safehaven" crap. new schools for illegals. We are right behind them closing in fast! No one talks about the real issue in Cali they only lay off workers, Americans and ignore the giant elephant in the country.

Change of subject. Anybody else out there think the South Side Parade should go away? I just can’t handle another year of idiots urinating, vomiting and defecating in my back yard. This original “cute little neighborhood parade” has turned into a drunk fest. We are invaded by every drunken idiot from the surrounding area. Held captive in our homes from 9am until well after 6pm. The city cleans up Western Ave, but ignores the tons of trash and beer bottles/cans on the side streets. Cops are useless, they just want to put in there overtime hours and go home.

1964 - Former White Sox shortstop Luke Appling is voted into the Hall of Fame in the runoff election. Appling won two batting titles and played 2,422 games in twenty years with the White Sox.

"My Daddy was left-handed, and I was left-handed when I was little. In fact, I was left-handed all the way to high school. Then I switched over to right-handed cause I wanted to play shortstop."
Luke Appling

"The spitter wasn't hard to hit when you knew a pitcher could throw it legally. But the guys to worry about were the pitchers who sneaked over the illegal spitter after the pitch was outlawed." - Luke Appling in The Sporting News (April 13, 1955)

OK, so once we get the Olympics here and the "ethnic cleansing" occurs. We now have neighborhoods that contribute more money into the city's tax base....do you honestly think our taxes will go down or we'd get better city sevices? Oh wait maybe the city workers contracts won't go past two years + after their expiration? Maybe Daley will hire more people and create jobs. NOT. We will get nothing out of this except the refugees from the "ethnic cleansing" Wake up and smell the investor's profits and kickbacks to Daley and many other city officials. Troutman should start singing how things are done in this city in detail.

Well said. Kickbacks are why he is insane over doing this Ohare project no matter what or whom it hurts. daley cares about money and taking care of his own, as well as some legacy that will never happen. ball less wonder, not like daddy at all.

1943 - Phil Wrigley and Branch Rickey charter the All-American Girls Softball League. The league will operate around the Chicago area and is formed as a sports backup in case the government shuts down major league baseball. The league will later change its name and switch to hardball with a pitching distance of 40 feet and bases 68 feet apart.

With America's entry into World War II, several major league baseball executives started a new professional league with women players in order to maintain baseball in the public eye while the majority of able men were away. Initial tryouts were held at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

The name of the league is something of a misnomer, as the AAGPBL did not play regulation baseball until late in the 1954 season. In the first season, the league played a game that was a hybrid of baseball and softball. The ball was 12 inches in circumference, the size of a regulation softball (regulation baseballs are 9 to 9 1/4 inches). The pitcher's mound was only forty feet from home plate, closer even than in regulation softball and much closer than the baseball distance of 60 feet, 6 inches. Pitchers threw underhand windmill, like in softball, and the distance between bases was 65 feet, five feet longer than in softball but 25 feet shorter than in baseball. Major similarities between the AAGPBL and baseball included nine player teams and the use of a pitcher's mound (softball pitchers throw from flat ground). Over the history of the league, the rules were gradually modified to more closely resemble baseball. The ball shrank from season to season until it was regulation baseball size, the mound was moved back to 60 feet, the basepaths were extended to 85 feet (still five feet shorter than in regulation baseball), and overhand pitching was allowed.[1]
